I am an athletic man and I actually had liposuction myself in the number one area for men. That is the the love handles. That area around the waist on the sides. I was in great shape with kick boxing 3-4 times per week, weight lifting and surfing yet still had these areas of fat.
The more I dieted and lost weight, my face became too thin and gaunt. Yet the love handles remained. I suppose I could have lost more, but I may have looked like a skeleton everywhere else.
This is one of the frequent problems found with our male patients. The spare tire or love handles. What this stems from is genetic. You are born with a fixed amount of fat cells. They will be non responsive to exercise as far as these problem areas go, unless you lose an unhealthy amount of weight. The problem is you have fat cell concentration in that area and best handled by reducing the number of fat cells.
The other problem area for men is the neck typically under the neck. This may produce a lack of definition to a good jaw line. Liposuction of the neck can remove some of the fat which will result in a more defined and masculine neck and jaw line. The procedure can be done many times under local anesthesia and the recovery is surprisingly quick.
